Update on home wine!

We racked our Eastern WA Zinfandel out of the french oak barrel into a neutral oak barrel to allow it to continue to mature and mellow out some of the intense oak flavors it picked up from the fresh french oak in which it has been aging for the last several months.  Exciting!  I’ve the highest of hopes that this is going to be a stellar wine.

The first barrel:

We used the trusty Enol-matic to pump the wine through the hallway along floor to its new home:
